Mid Week

I haven't been able to sleep since Sunday night, so last night I cooked up my own sleepy time concoction and I was finally able to sleep all night. I went to bed at 1030, which is about 2 hrs earlier than I normally go to bed. Even though I think I could have slept another couple of hours this morning, I think I'm back on track. Yeahhh! It's funny, when Mac isn't here the covers don't get all jacked up by morning. It almost looks like no one even slept in the bed. LOL What is he doing in his sleep?

I'm very excited for a friend of mine who emailed me yesterday he got his final approval and scheduled his surgery date for gastric bypass. He's totally pumped up and I just want to say Good Luck! I know he'll do great. =)

Not much to report, Mac is out of town till Friday, kids are doing their thing and I'm working. I've decided to move a shade darker on the dresser I'm painting, so I've got to get more paint tonight to put on a new coat. There something therapeutic about painting. I don't know if I said this the other day, but I remember we just to laugh at my great-grandmother for bending over at the waist to paint something down low. And I laughed even more when I realized I was doing it exactly the same way. Hope she saw that! =)

Looking forward to our holiday weekend! Yipeeeee Have a good one.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

We had a busy weekend. Friday night we went to dinner and a movie (Tropic Thunder) with Scott. Saturday morning we got up and drove up to Leesburg to check out the fair and pick up some furniture. On the way home we dropped off Megan's school books. Yeahhhh school! =)
The town of Lucketts Fair

It's centered around the old schoolhouse

Now across the street to Lucketts shop to pick up the furniture

Here's the dresser (in the shop)

Today I went to Home Depot and picked up my supplies for sanding and painting.

Dresser ready for painting

Look at me, I'm painting!

First coat of paint

Tomorrow I'll add another coat and Tuesday I'll sand a little which will make the black show through a little. (that's the look I'm going for)

Mac and Scott picked up a new addition to Mac's tank...meet Mr. Craby Craberton!

Now the fish are curious and want their picture taken!
That's about all the excitement we can handle for today!
Have a great week. =)

It's Wednesday Night...

Justin and I are watching X-Play, a fabulous show for gamers that tells you all about upcoming releases of new games, etc. He doesn't know it yet, but when this goes off I'm going to make him watch Project Runway with me! hahaha

Mac is in New Hampshire with his work wife Kelly. Today's her wedding anniversary, Happy Anniversary Kelly! I told Mac he needed to buy her a drink since she's not able to celebrate at home with her hubby. He'll be home tomorrow just in time to meet up for Martini Night at the Green Leafe. woohooo

Not much happening this week. Went to Richmond last night for my monthly weight loss support group meeting at VCU. It's always very uplifting, last night was about body image. I think one of our speakers was a little thrown off at how positive everyone in the room was about their body image. =) There are the regulars that come to the meetings and new people who are thinking about having the surgery and they can ask questions, etc. It's always a good experience and I try to go at least once a quarter.

So that's it, we're heading up to Leesburg this Saturday to pick up some furniture and we're going to stop by and see Megan and drop off her school books.

Talk to you soon!
xoxo

Mac is home!

I had a very busy week. I caught the spring cleaning bug and went crazy...so Mac may not recognize this place. hahaha I also watched the US swim team, so much fun to watch!
I went to Abuelos today with three other ladies...yummy!! I've missed my Tex-Mex big time!
I ate half of my enchiladas and brought this half home.

Mac made it home tonight, and was pleased to see his 110 gallon tank was doing well.

Look how beautiful the sky was tonight...

Mac enjoying a snack

Yeah! My sunshine is home...we missed Mac!

We went to the Green Leafe and enjoyed the cool weather. It was so nice, we sat on the patio and Mac caught me up on his trip. He had a nice dinner with his Mom and brother, and they all went to see a movie last night. A good time was had by all.

So we're back at it tomorrow. A few people have mentioned they are getting close to having weight loss surgery, and I'd just like to with them all good luck! If anyone has questions, feel free to contact me. =)

Mid-week

Mac is out of town all week, first AZ then to CA for business. It's his mom's birthday, Happy B-day Anita!! So he's staying over the weekend in CA to visit with his West Coast Crew. Fingers crossed he'll stay away from the 911 Wings at Cluck U!

That's about it, I'm just doing some spring cleaning, watching Project Runway, and enjoying our fabulous weather! Low 80's during the day and 70's at night. It's been beautiful.

Mac is getting his gigantic fish tank going, so it's got sand, water and about 5 clown fish. More on that later.
I'm very excited, Abuelo's Mexican Food is opening a place here and we're going Friday after work. FINALLY, real, yummy, Tex-Mex food! =)

Back to Civilization

Well, we made it home about 130 today from our big outing.

Friday we got up, loaded up and drove down to Shenandoah National Park.

We got to the park and found "the perfect campsite", put up our tent and hit the next town for groceries. The weather was fabu, in the 70's and sunny.

Mac grilled steaks for dinner, yum yum! And we made smores...I can't remember the last time I had those? Anyway, it started getting cold and by the time we got up Saturday morning it was below 60 degrees. brrrrrrrr campers!

Cook up that breakfast Cookie!!

After breakfast we drove to New Market, VA to check out a flea market. That was a bust. Wasn't impressed at all. Then we drove up further north to Leesburg, VA. There's a shop there I love, called Luckett's and they have great buys on furniture and architectural pieces. We bought a new dresser and are thinking about some other pieces. You just can't beat their prices.

After returning from Leesburg, we did some hiking and found a great spot to watch the sun set. The weather was great and the view spectacular. We made sandwiches and Mac taught me how to play Gin. (he beat me twice) It wasn't as cold as the night before, so we sat by the fire and chatted.

Sunset...taken with Mac's camera phone!

We got up this morning (and we didn't freeze), had some breakfast and loaded up the car. We had a great time and really enjoyed the relaxing pace. Life is good! Oh, and we didn't see any bears. Apparently that is a common occurrence. YIKES!!

An over look on the way out of the park...of course Mac has his camp coffee!

Had a call today from Emese (my birthday sister in Phoenix), she just got engaged. We are so happy for her! Congrats E. and Jason!! Can't wait to see you both.

Back to work tomorrow. Have a great week everyone!

Here's a slide show from our trip:

Friday night in the burg

Hey there,

So we went to Martini night at the Green Leafe in Williamsburg. Good times. The boys were running around today getting some things done, and we haven't seen them yet.

After the Greene Leafe we went by Target to get a few things for our trip tomorrow.
We're leaving in the morning for Shenandoah to go camping. Saturday we're heading over to the Shenandoah Valley Flea Market.
I'll update when we get back.
Have a great weekend! =)

Not much going on here but work. Mac and I are going camping this weekend. More on that later in the week.

I would like to give out our wedding/reception website. It's got some great info for out of towners, etc. www.cindyandmac.com

Check it out, I'm working on adding to it, so check back often.

That's all for now. Have a great week! =)
