Monticello

Friday night we got home and decided we would go check out Charlottesville, VA. Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello is there and I'd never seen it before. It was so beautiful, we really enjoyed it.

Charlottesville...here we come...

After the tour we walked around and took a few pics

awww
There are some really scary trees out there...very headless horseman

One of the out buildings. The little pond is where TJ's people would put fish they had caught nearby as a holding area until they were ready to be cooked. Wouldn't that be nice to have fresh fish when you want it? TJ had it going on.
TJ's family cemetery, but why does Mac have a little captain in him?

Charlottesville is a cute little town, Main St. is blocked off and they have street vendors set up selling jewelry, etc. Lots of cute, unusual shops.

This Christmas tree fascinated me! It's made up barbies. Click on the pic to see it up close.

We ate at a great place, that Mac said reminded him of something in San Francisco. It was called Zocalo. Yummy, I had butternut squash soup and scallops.

Here's the link to it:

When you get on it, hold down the ctrl button and click on "Gallery" to see the pics. The pic on the far right is the table we sat at.

So now we're just watching the last half of the Cowboy game and then I've got homework to finish up. Haven't lost any more weight since last weigh in, so no news there. Not much else to report. Check back Wednesday.

Love ya!
