Yesterday we drove up to DC to check out the Eastern Market...just off the Capitol. It's a great little neighborhood with renovated brownstone type housing and they all have that old Victorian style that I love.
The market was pretty good, lots of local artists, jewelry, fruits and veggies, with a few antiques thrown in. We went through it fairly quickly, so we drove over to the Jefferson Memorial to check it out. It's not on the mall, but across the river from everything all alone, and we'd never been over there. The statue is so tall it's like looking up at Paul Bunyan! I believe Mac captured it in the pic he took.
We also posed with George Mason...
And we had a great view of the Washington Memorial...Here's Mac demonstrating his super human strength...
On the way home we stopped at On the Border and had dinner with Megan and her boyfriend, Aaron. Aren't they so cute?
Mac left this morning for back to back business trips, and he won't be home till Friday night. =( Sad for me. So it's just me and Justin. He's busy getting to classes and I'm working away. Took my walk tonight with one of my fav co-workers, Ashley. Thanks Ashley for filling in for Mac! I'm still stuck around the 80 pounds lost mark, but adding more exercise starting today so we'll see how that goes.
