Howdy from Paris!

Wednesday, April 20th, Mac and I left DC to start our 3 Year Honeymoon! We connected thru Charlotte, where we had a long enough layover I could get a pedicure...what a great idea for a business, need one at every airport!
Back to the plane and we flew to Paris. We were able to get an upgrade, so Envoy class it was. It was very nice, but in the end it's still an airplane seat and pretty much hard as a rock. Nonetheless, we made it!
After checking in, we walked around our hotel, about three blocks down our street is the Arch de Triumph.
Across the street from our hotel was this cute sidewalk cafe. Justin's grandma (Doris) actually gave me a small little plate with this place printed on it that she found and thought it was cute. Had no idea we'd stumble on to it, but glad we did! Delish =)
Yum!
After a bite, we walked to the top of the Arch, only 284 steps...
View from the top...
Back down the stairs...
Walking about...
Oh yes! It's mine...
Found a bench right under the tower, and while we were sitting there it got dark and at 9pm the tower lights up and sparkles for a few minutes before staying lit. Beautiful!
Walking back to our hotel...
Day 2...walking to the Louvre...mmm I was thirsty!
We're here! And the line only took 20 minutes...we're half way there!
Inside the door...
Mona Lisa...you can't see, but there are about 200 people behind me trying to take a pic of her! I pushed my way to the front.
Another surprise...when we walked into the gallery where the Mona Lisa was hanging, on the opposite wall was a gigantic painting that we've seen before. Megan's mom gave her a small puzzle of this painting, we had no idea we'd bump into it here...lol
After walking around the Louvre for more than 4 hours, we took a break walking back to the hotel at this cute outdoor cafe.
Our view...
Ahhh, so nice!
Have to run for a while, more from Paris later...up next...day trip to Versailles (Sunday) and a walking tour we're doing tonight (Monday).
Bye for now!

March Update

March has flown by, or rather blown by! The weather has been crazy. Windy, rainy, sunny, and hail. It's put a damper on our walking about, but we've been trying to make up for it during our lunch hours. Mac walks in the underground shopping area by his office in Crystal City and I was trying out a gym across the street from my office with one of my friends. (still thinking about joining) One of things I did this month was happy hour with my co-workers...it happened to be St.Patricks Day. Vito showing off his beads... Lil Jessica and me...we think the horns are left over from New Years and the red, white and blue lays are from 4th of July? We also had Megan's sister Debbie came up for a weekend and we had dinner in Chinatown. Mac ordered jellyfish.

Megan and Debbie

Debbie's fake 16th birthday brunch at Poste

The girls and I went to Williamsburg and got pedicures and then dinner with some girls in Newport News. After dinner we sat outside around the firepit. Good times!

Next dinner with the kids, not sure what we were doing, but we're so cute!

Scott and Megan

Hey! It's my husband!! This was our 3 yr wedding anniversary.

The cutest present! A puzzle that is a pic of us on the beach in Hawaii where we got married.

Drinks at La Tasca...the special Cherry Blossom Sangria

Aww, who's the sweetest?

Who got the biggest little blue box from Tiffany's!

Then we went to the closing night of Madame Butterfly at the Kennedy Center. So beautiful!

Afterwards, dinner at AGAINN.

Oh thank goodness we found this place...Texas BBQ!!! YEAHHHHH Hill Country BBQ Market is fabu! It even has Blue Bell ice cream, which is what Mac always calls our Blue Bonnets. HA

Here's the new National Christmas Tree. (the old one was damaged in a recent storm)

Oh yes, the Cherry Blossoms are out!

So that's about it for March. Mac and I are really excited, we are leaving for our "Honeymoon" on April 20th! The deal was, if we got married in Hawaii, we would still take a trip to Italy for our official Honeymoon...and we're finally doing it!

First stop Paris for 5 days, then Venice for 2 days, Rome for 5 days, then back to Paris via an overnight train to spend 1 last night in Paris before we fly home.

Can't wait! I will be updating from the road, so stay tuned.

xoxo
