Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving. Scott and Megan came over and shared dinner with us. Justin is in Granbury with the Ivies.
Last night Mac made the pie on the right (sweet potato and pecan pie) and the one on the left this morning (carmel pear)

Then Mac made us a yummy appetizer...toasted french bread with a layer of brie and cream cheese, topped with a cranberry relish...mmmmm

Ck out that turkey! Oh so good!! =P

Megan helped...awww

No, this isn't some crazy mountain man...it's Scott!

After slaving away all day, Mac's masterpiece is ready to be served!

Cheers!

After dinner we took a walk around Chinatown.

Megan was full, but those ducks hanging in the window looked yummy!

Soooo, the kids have hit the road, the dishes are done and here we are watching Elf. We hope everyone's Thanksgiving was a tasty as ours! =) Christmas here we come!!

We're home!

We had a great week on our Dinning cruise...Nov 7 - 14th...so here we go:

All aboard! Martin, Mimi, Pam, me, Kim, Anita and Mac...we are Team Dinning.

On board, waiting to shove off...

First day at sea

I do believe I could get used to this...

The ladies...

It's all about formal night! (our second one)
Aren't we so pretty...

On the staircase...we have to get as many of these as possible!

Hey, Mac is falling asleep!

And we have full head tilt!

Here comes Mac...zip line excursion in Puerto Villarta

Pretending this was fun...haha

Mac!

My turn!

Walk on Stone Beach at Mazaltan

Stopped for Margaritas...

Beautiful sunset at sea...

Good times

My view while enjoying the sun...

Heading off to Cabo for our snorkling excursion...

View from the boat

Me & a school of fishes...so pretty!

Mac diving down to check it out

After snorkling, enjoying a Tequilla Sunrise on the way back to port.

An after dinner swim

Our last pic, breakfast before we docked and headed home.

Before we left LA, we had dinner with our nephew Michael. He took us to a cool place called La Cave. It was so cool, like a speak easy, you take a stair case down a couple of flights and you end up in a windowless room...the lighting is red and they play Dean Martin music. http://www.lacaverestaurant.com/History.html
So, now we're home and I'm looking for a job. Mac and I picked up everything for our Thanksgiving dinner today...he's going to brine our turkey this year, should be interesting. Tune in Thursday!

Hope everyone has a great holiday!
xoxo

Hello from Orange County, CA

This past week was very busy!

Justin and I did the Museum of Natrual History and the IMAX which was awesome...it was an 3D underwater video and it was very cool. (our beautiful 3D glasses)
A statue by our apartment, it has the map of the metro line on it.

Dinner at a Thai place near the apartment, fried squid legs...

Yesterday we arrived in LA, checked into our hotel and had lunch at Taleo's...preparing for our cruise.

Dinner last night at Bandera's...that steak looked fabu!
Our driver/nephew...and starving film student, Michael enjoying (according to him) the best meal he's had since I was out here a year ago and bought him a steak dinner at Ruth's Chris. Awww, he's so cute...
We're now just getting ready to head to the Port of LA to meet the other Dinnings and get on the boat for our cruise. We're sailing on the Sapphire Princess and we're heading to Mexico. Arrribbbaaaaaaa!
I'll be posting from the boat...tune in!

November is here...

And it's rainy and a little nippy out here. This week was a little wild.

Brenda's doctor had to induce labor and baby Keifer was born on Thursday, all is well with mom and baby. Keifer will have to have surgery on Tuesday to have a shunt put into his heart. You can read more about his progress on the blog I set up for Brenda. She's updating it from the hospital. http://www.heartbeatsforkeifer.blogspot.com/

Back here in DC, Mac and I have been exploring our neighborhood. Friday night we sampled some wines at The Cure which is a little bar/bistro type place on H Street.

Afterwards, we walked around a bit...Mac posing with a sculpture.

Ended the night with some guac and margaritas at Rosa Mexicano's

Guess who had the crazy pepper margarita and who had the yummy pomegranate marg?

Yes, Captain Crazy Mac!

Love Rosa's tip jar...
So that's about it, Justin is getting ready to fly to Texas on Wednesday and Mac and I are heading to California on Friday to meet the rest of the Dinning clan for a cruise to Mexico. Pam, Kim, Martin, Mimi, and Anita will be with us and we'll no doubt have some great pics. (yikes) Not sure if we can post from the boat, but I'll try.
Bon voyage!
