It's Sunday

Mac is home this weekend, and we've just been relaxing.

It started raining Friday night and the sun finally came out about an hour ago. Looks like it will be a very nice day. The weather has cooled off and the leaves are starting to change colors. Love this time of year out here.

Mac is back in the kitchen...breakfast yesterday...yummy

Ck out this gigantic spider right outside the front door...YIKES!

Mac made Morrocan Stew with lamb and couscous...so tasty!

We just finished watching the Sunday morning shows and just waiting for the Redskins game at one. Mac is making some game day snacks, something with alvacado...mmmm

We're getting closer to our move date, October 10 and I need to get busy around here. This is my last week at Northrop Grumman. I can't believe it's already here! Lots of stuff planned for this week. Tuesday night a friend is taking me to see GREASE at the Chrystler Hall and out to dinner...can't wait! Wednesday, my group at work is taking me to lunch and Friday night after work we're going to the Red Star for my last day celebration. I hope I can actually get some work done too. haha

Anyway, have a great week...should have some pics to post next Sunday!

New week

Just got off the train from DC, watching the Cowboy game. Lovin the new stadium in Arlington! WOW!

Mac and I had a great weekend, just exploring our new neighborhood and doing a lot of walking.

We found this Texas BBQ place just blocks from our new apartment, it's PERFECT! (Called Capital Q BBQ http://capitalqbbq.com/) You cannot get red spicy bbq sauce (like we have in TX) in VA or really anywhere on the east coast. Also, they had sausage links! I went to the local BBQ place here in Williamsburg and asked about sausage links and looked at me like I was crazy! No one has it. So yeahhhh for us!

Mac inside Capital Q BBQ...

We had seen another place we wanted to try, it's Mexican Food, Rosa Mexicano
We saw it when we were down there last weekend at the arts festival. It was great!

Pomegranite Margarita...

Look at that Guac! mmmm

So that's about it, we went to the annual DC Flea Market in Chantilly. Saw lots of fabulous things!!! A vintage full length mink coat for on $95! OHHHHH, I wanted that. There were so many great things, if only I had just hit lotto!

Mac is heading out of DC tomorrow for a few days on a business trip and I'm back to work for a few more weeks. The next couple of weeks we'll be cleaning out the garage and getting things ready for the move.

Dear lordy, it's almost half time and the Cowboys just can't get it together!

I'm outta here. Have a great week, talk to you soon!

Tuesday already...

Time flies!
Ok, some of you may already be in the know, but the big news here is...Mac has taken a new job as an Army Liason in DC. He's been in the position since August, and we're officially moving into our new apartment on October 10th.

Our apartment is fabu! Located at 300 Massachusetts Ave. NW. When you walk outside the front of our building and look to the left you can see the big arch over the entrance to Chinatown and if you look the other way, you can almost see Union Station.

Here's the link to our building: http://www.masscourtdc.com/building/photogallery.php If you look at the 3rd pic on the top row, that's what our apartment looks like.

A few weeks ago we signed the lease, we parked a few blocks from our building...immediately saw this sign and it made us laugh.

We have lunch at a sidewalk cafe called Potenza on 15th, near the White House...Yummy!

View from our table, way out there is the Washington Monument

Mmmmm, good food!

I've got the capital in my hand! Power, ha!

We're about 3 blocks from where we took this...

Then we were off to the Postal Museum...right next door to Union Station

Inside the Post Office, beautiful

Postal Museum Love Exhibit...awwww

Gift Shop...Honest Abe Mac?

Then back to Newport News, drinks with the girls...Ashley, me, Kim (my replacement at NG), Carrie (hidden) and Jenni...oh I will miss them!

Coffee at Aroma's in Williamsburg

My Redskin, Mac...

Treats at Blue Talon

It's one of our fav places...

Then we finally toured the Governor's Palace at Colonial Williamsburg

Me waiting for my carriage...

Back to DC this past weekend...Mac's b-day was Sunday. When I got there Friday night Mac picked me up at the train station in Alexandria and we went to dinner at this great place. They serve chili on everything! Love it. I gave Mac part of his b-day present...a citrus zester!! wooo
And of course margaritas

Saturday we took the Metro over to the Chinatown station by our apartment to check out our new neighborhood. Right down the street we found this place. Awesome places to eat, and a super cool sports bar/bowling alley called Lucky Strike.

We stumbled onto an arts festival...food, art, dance and theater groups...very nice!

mmmm, tasty

We took a peek at the National Portrait Gallery...Mac addressing the masses from the second floor balcony.

The actual view...

Inside the gallery, looking through the doorway, across the hall is a pic of Michael J. Fox.

Me scared because Mac is driving crazy!

Sunday, Megan and I took Mac out to dinner at a nice place called The Palm.
Blow out the candles Mac!

So now we're caught up!
My last day of work is Friday, October 2nd. Cell numbers will stay the same. When we get the address squared away I'll post it on here. Send us a postcard and we'll send you one back from DC.
Mac is in town tonight, but heading back to DC tomorrow night. I'm taking the train up to DC again this Friday to visit Mac over the weekend. More pictures to follow next weekend.
Hugs & Kisses to everyone!
