Fall colors

It's officially fall around here. The colors of the trees are beautiful. Ck these out, trees down the street from our house...

It's absolutely gorgeous out here. Nice cool weather, and of course all the fall colors all around us. I love this time of year out here.

Mac flew home tonight, and I met up with friends at the Green Leafe. Home and ready for bed! This weekend we have a b-day party for our friend Jessie. Other than that pretty quiet.
That's it for now, tune in Sunday for our weekend update.

Sunday night

Not wanting to go back to work tomorrow. Had a fun day shopping for dressy dresses with Jeri and Ashley. Good times. I can't show you the dress Ashley tried on (she won't let me), but here's the one I picked.

Hair down
Hair up

I'm thinking about wearing to our Christmas party, it has a "Glam" theme this year with a red carpet/photographer and everything. Should be lots of fun!
We are happy campers around here, the Cowboys and the Redskins both won this weekend! yippeeee Mac has to go to Huntsville for a few days this week. =( I'll just be working as usual. That's about it.
Talk to ya soon.

Crate & Barrel

Today we drove up to Richmond. It's so pretty right now with the leaves changing colors. The weather is crisp, unfortunately it's been rainy, so that's ewwww. Otherwise, loving it.

The view on our drive

Mac checking out the goods at C&B

Nice leather chair

We like this piece of furniture...

We didn't pick out anything at C&B. We're thinking it over.

Scott and that's his dad...

I wish this wasn't blurry, Mac had Paella Valencia...clams, shrimp, chorizo, rice, asparagus, and peas.

That was our day. We're thinking about taking a walk, but it's getting late and we're getting comfy.

Not next weekend but the weekend after, we hope to check out Megan and Aaron's new place up in Fairfax. Megan is planning on a dinner out for Aaron's b-day that weekend.

So we had a nice visit with Scott and tomorrow I'm going shopping with Jeri and Ashley. More on that tomorrow.

Last night Megan and I had dinner at Kincaids, then we went to a Lisa Williams show. She had a Lifetime show that Megan and I loved to watch, so when I heard she was coming we had to go see her in person. It was lots of fun and we had a nice dinner, and a little shopping.

Susan G Komen 5k

Friday night Mac and I went out to dinner. A great place we haven't tried in New Town, Buon Amici. http://www.buonamiciwilliamsburg.com/
Mmm, yummy!

I got the "Williamsburg Martini".

My dinner, a salad with sliced mozerella with monk fish and roasted peppers

I'm on a 5k roll! Saturday morning I picked up Jeri and Ashley and we drove over to Virginia Beach with Valerie and Joycelyn. It was in the 50's and light rain off and on. =( I will say it was a huge turn out...the rain can't keep these people at home!

Arriving at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk

Panera Bread provided bagel shaped like the ribbon...cute!

Drum Core from a local high school to get the party started!
Jerri's baby boy...not quite awake yet Raf?

The superheros were there fighting cancer? Notice the Pink Punisher on the far left...hahaha (Ashley)

Our resident survivor, Miss Valerie!

Group shot taken by Raf...Jeri, Ashley, Me, Joycelyn and Valerie

Our own personal cheerleader, Joycelyn

This guy came up with this t-shirt idea and his whole team wore them...clever
And we're off...dark sky over us

Folks on the side line cheering us on

The first half of the walk is down the street side, where all the shops are...smiley face!

As we turned to corner at the mid way point and headed down the board walk to the finish line it started to sprinkle. Look at this cloud cover! nasty

The finish line!

Despite the weather, we had a great day! Thanks to my team!! Good times. Stay tuned for the next walks coming up. Valerie and I are doing at least one big walk and possibly two in the next year. I'll be asking for donations for those!
Last night Mac and I went to see the musical, Damn Yankees at William & Mary. They did a great job. I'd seen it on Broadway years ago, but Mac had never seen it. We really enjoyed it. $15 bucks a ticket, you can't beat it! Afterwards we went to the Green Leafe for a margarita with friends.
We just watched the Cowboys get spanked and the Deadskins are up next. That's about all I have, hope you all have a great week! =)

Mom, check out my new dress and love love love the shoes! (got em both at White/Black)
Smokin hot!! or should I say purrrrrrrrr =) hahaha

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding 5k - Complete!

And we did it! Doesn't 5k sound like a long distance? It's only 3 miles...Mac and I walk 5 when we do our long walk at CW and about 2.5 when we do the short one. But, nonetheless we did it.

The shipyard and their volunteers did a great job on the first attempt at organizing and executing this health initiative for us! Great sponsors, Bojangles had food and drinks on hand, Patty Heath - local State Farm Rep, and the Apprentice School. Everyone got cool t-shirts, goodie bag, etc.
Newport News Mayor saying a few words before we started

Here's some pics of our O58/Supply Chain Management:

Donald and Ashley, pre-run muscle pose

Some of the Apprentice School boys that participated...love the Fro!

We started at the VASCIC building on the James River at East end of the shipyard

Some of the real runners, Go Jay and Melissa!! We were at the back with the walkers!

A real walker always carries a cup of piping hot coffee!

Jeri and I are doing our patented "West Side Story" dance to the 2 mile marker.

Quick photo op at the 2 mile marker...me, Jeri, Ashley and Paula

Close to the end, smiles all around!

Wooohooo, Paula going through the Victory Arch...close to the finish line!

As Mac told everyone, only the first 600 participants got these cool medals! (550 people were in the race)

The finish line!

Serious 5k after-talk with Ashley, Melissa and Paula

Ash, Melissa, Jay and Paula

After race Mac and I headed back to Williamsburg and grabbed a cup of coffee at Aroma's

Did a walk through the CW Farmer's Market

Last night we did our mug margs at Green Leafe. Mac tried to stay up for SNL, but he dozed off. It was a rerun, so he didn't miss anything. But MAD tv was really funny, so I watched that then hit the bed.

Mac is making Beer Butt Chicken right now, should be ready about 5pm. (smells good!) Anyway, watching the Red Skins get beat right now and the Cowboys are up next. woohoooo

Hope you all had a great weekend!
