Sunday football =(

The Cowboys couldn't pull it off today and lost by 2 little points!

Moving on...we bought 5 new turbo snails for the tank today and after the game we were looking in the tank and 4 of the snails were stuck together. It was weird, we couldn't figure out why they were doing that, then a little bity snail popped out of one of the big snails. We have a baby! It's tiny.

Here's the cluster of 4 snails and just in front of them and to the left is the little purple snail

Another angle

Anyway, that's as much fun as we can handle around here. Once we get the holey rock in the tank, we'll add some new pics.

Beautiful weekend...

Mac came home Friday night and we went to Green Leafe for a drink and snacks. Great weather and afterwards we took a walk around New Town. The new Trader Joes opened earlier in the day, so we did a walk through and picked up a few things.

Today I went to Eileen to get my nails done and then to Salon Vivace for my facial. When I got home it was about 1:00 and Mac and I were trying to decide what to do today...stay home and relax or go do something outside.

We decided to try our luck at the Neptune Festival at the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Sometimes the traffic is so bad, we get about half way and turn around and come home! Today it went smooth...shocking! No traffic, great weather, found a good parking spot...the beach gods were with us.

This is the Neptune sculpture on the boardwalk

This was the picture for this year's festival...it's on the back of our the t-shirt and sweatshirt we bought.

I couldn't decide, so in true Dinning fashion, Mac bought me both! (chicken teriyaki stick/hot dog)

Ck out this lady's tatoo...it's the ship from Futurama! haha

Sand sculptures

We walked the entire boardwalk from one end to the other and it took 2 and half hours. I wore Mac out. =) We came home and finished up leftovers and we're just watching tv, updating the blog and Mac is working on a soduku puzzle.

That's about it, tomorrow is football...the big Redskins/Cowboys game. Go Cowboys!!!

Hope everyone is having great a weekend! =)

Rain, Rain

It started raining today on my way to work and dear lordy, it hasn't stopped yet! It's been raining hard and the wind is so strong it's blowing the rain sideways in huge sheets. This is snuggle up in the bed with a good book weather. Mac was supposed to come home tonight, but due to our crazy weather, he is stuck in Chicago.

And darn it, I looked so cute today! Now I don't get to see Mac till tomorrow. =(

Mom, these shoes remind of a pair you used to have.

When we got back from Vegas the giant piece of rock we bought Mac for his birthday was here sadly it was broken into several pieces. =( Filed a claim, once we get that taken care of we'll probably go ahead and put the larger broken pieces in the tank. Here's what they look like:

That's about it. Just working hard and ready for the weekend. We may hit a festival this weekend, so tune in later!

High Roller!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post! It's been busy, busy.

Last Thursday after work I took off for Vegas to meet Mac. He was out there at a conference. (Government workers!) He picked me up about 11 pm Vegas time, 2am East Coast time.

The next morning we moved over to our hotel, Bill's Gambling Hall (formerly Barbary Coast), http://www.billslasvegas.com/. This place is tiny, less than 200 rooms. It's 25 years old and one of the best deals on the strip. Not luxurious, but very old school. We love the steakhouse, it's got 9 high back, red velvet booths and about 6 additional tables. It's dark and romantic and the service is great. We gambled there a couple of years ago and now they send us free stays. This is our second free weekend, and we're loving it. At least until Harrah's tears is down to build something else. (they bought it in 2007 and changed the name to Bill's) So here we go:

Gorgeous evening flight...

Mac had to leave on Sunday cuz his mean boss said he had to be at work on Monday morning. I was unable to change my departure from Monday to Sunday, so I spend one more night in Vegas all alone! =( I went to the pool and watched the Cowboy game. Mac put $10 on the Vikings, Redskins and Cowboys. He won, so I collected his winnings...$66.00!

The good news is I got up Monday took a walk down the strip, did a little shopping and then I hit the slot machines. I am happy to say I got lucky baby! Over the weekend I alotted about 300 to gamble on, and when I left for the airport I had $920 in my pocket!

My high roller winnings!

Goodie I won! Too bad it wasn't enough to stay home from work...Mac left today for 2 day trip and I'm home.

Dancing with the Stars is coming on, so I'm outta here. Tune in later!

xoxo

Birthday Weekend

Friday night we had dinner with the kids at Opus 9 for Mac's big 53rd b-day! His birthday is actually today (Saturday), but Megan and Aaron had to be at a wedding tonight in North Carolina, so we moved dinner to Friday.

It was great having the kids with us, had a fabulous time.

Today just a relaxing day, got my nails done this morning, then lunch and shopping with a friend. Tonight Mac and I had nachos and margaritas at the Green Leafe, sat outside, very nice. We didn't get much sleep last night, Mac was tossing and turning and I'm a light sleeper, so I was awake too. After our margs we decided to come home and watch a movie, "Shooter" with Marky Mark.

Tomorrow is political shows and football, then Mac is leaving Monday for a conference in Vegas. I have a busy schedule this week. Monday night class, Tuesday night is Pink Martini Night for Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Wednesday night drinks at the Red Star and Thursday after work I leave for Vegas baby! We've got a free weekend stay at Bill's again, should be lots of fun. =)

Aunt Pam & Uncle Orvie, Paige & Mike you're all in our thoughts! Hope everyone is doing ok, let me hear from you!

Have a great week!
