I'm Stuffed!

Dear lord, Mac made chilled cream of green chili soup, blackened salmon and broccoli for dinner. It was so good, but now I'm too full.

I haven't been feeling too well, but I went to work late and then to work out, so I'm on a roll. Also, I lost a couple of pounds so I'm now only 9 pounds away from my goal of losing 139 pounds. Woooooo The end of this month marks my 10th month post-op, and things are still going great.

Saturday night Mac and I are going to a reverse auction here in Williamsburg. The Williamsburg Young Women's Club is doing this auction, they'll serve drinks and snacks and the last number called wins the jackpot. ($5,000) Should be interesting.

I'll keep you posted.

xoxo

Tough week

This past week was difficult. I flew to Texas Tuesday so I could be there for Kris' viewing and her funeral on Wednesday. It was a very touching service and the place was packed. Kris was such great person, this is a loss that I'm not sure some will ever get over.

I flew home Thursday, and since I've been back feels like I have strep throat. =( Going to the doctor tomorrow.

The good news is my mom visited this weekend! We picked her up Saturday and took her out to lunch at 2nd Street.

Mimosas...yummy

We can never have enough of these shots!! I love 'em!

Mac made a fabulous dinner...Filets, mashed taters, asparagas and hollandaise sauce. (Scott has an orb on his head!) Those are what is left of my big V-Day bouquet. Pretty =)

We just hung out and did some shopping. Today everyone went to a movie, Vantage Point. (I stayed home and did homework) Tonight we watched the Academy Awards. I loved the song that won the Oscar. (we saw the movie it came from too) The movie was pretty good...it's called Once, but I really liked the music. The whole movie was made in three days and the cast was all made up of actual musicians which I think is kinda cool.

You can hear it (and the other songs in the movie) by clicking on this link: http://www.foxsearchlight.com/once/ then click on "download free song", then click on "download this clip".

Honkie...this is the picture I was telling you about, the Cherry Blossom Festival print we have by the front door...

Scott went back up to Richmond tonight, tomorrow mom leaves for Texas and Mac is heading out of town for the night. I'm going to rest. =)

Still nothing to report on the weight loss front, I think I lost another inch in my waist...so that's good! Other than that, just holding steady.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

Not much happening

This weekend has been busy, I've been doing some research for a paper I'm writing, Justin's dad visited him this weekend, Mac and I went to the International Gem & Jewelry Show up in DC.

Just taking a break from my homework to update the blog. I don't think I've lost any weight this month, but I know getting close to the end of my year post-op things slow down. Some people I've read about had months where they didn't lose anything, but the next month picked up and lost more. I'm not discouraged as I would be perfectly happy to stop right where I am. But still the goal is to lose another 12-15 pounds.

I did receive some sad news from Texas yesterday, one of my dearest Honeywell co-workers, Kris Houston passed away Saturday morning, very unexpectedly. She was married and had a daughter that is a junior in high school.

This is a picture I posted previously that I took when I was home at Christmas a few months ago, Kris is standing on the left side of the picture next to me:

Mac had commented that we looked a bit like sisters. Even though we were miles apart, I always felt like I'd never left whenever I had the chance to catch up with Kris. She wil be missed, and my thoughts are with her husband Andy and daughter Rebecca.

Happy Valentines Day!

It's V-Day! This morning we woke up to a beautiful dusting of snow on the ground. Nothing on the streets, but on the yards, cars, roofs, etc. (FlatBrandon, me and the snow)

Loved it, reminded me of the first Valentine's Day we had together, Mac came to Texas to visit me and it snowed on V-Day. That night we went downtown (Ft.Worth) and had dinner at one of the most fabu hotels, the Ashton Hotel in their wine cellar. http://theashtonhotel.com/
Here's a pic of the wine cellar...

Anyway, we spent the night downtown at the Renaissance. It was so much fun.
But back to today, about 1030 this morning someone came by and said there was a guy downstairs with something for me. I went to the lobby and Mac was there with a big gorgeous bouquet of spring flowers and little bag from Jared. Now we can say, "he went to Jared"! He gave me a pair of Tahitian pearl earrings that match my necklace and a ring he gave me previously. It's perfect. (Pearl is my birthstone)

Tonight we had dinner at one of our favorite places in Williamsburg, The Blue Talon French Bistro. http://www.bluetalonbistro.com/index.html

We had Mac's 50th birthday dinner there. Tonight we had their special V-Day dinner for two, it was all about trouffles! YUMMY =)

It started with oysters...(slimey)

Me and my French Martini...extra yum!!
Click on the pic to see the pearls up close...

Is this the cutest face! Love this guy.
So that was our day. Hope everyone had a good one!! So glad tomorrow is Friday! Homework for me and hopefully some rest.
Talk to ya later =)

The day after...

Well it's the day after super Tuesday/fat Tuesday...and I'm exhausted. All this election stuff has me on overload! Enough info, let's get this over with!

I just wanted to check in and let Mac's mom know that my bulbs she sent us for Christmas finally bloomed!! (one of the two plants anyway) Looks gorgeous!! Love it. =) The other one is only about half this size, but ready to bust out a bloom as well.

That's about all the excitment we have going on around here. We joined Bally's and I started tonight with my first work out. Dear lord! I haven't been in a gym in years. Anyway, excited to get things started and lose this last 10-15 pounds.
Mac is out of town, coming home tomorrow night and it looks like he'll be in town next week. That will be nice since he's been on the road non-stop lately.
Mid terms this week...so back to studing. =)

It's Feb Already?

Wow, January flew by! Update on my stats...I've lost 128 pounds, and 77 inches. As Mac pointed out, that was a person I've lost. He said he used to get 2 for 1, but now we're just down to 1! LOL Thank goodness for this guy!! He's been so supportive, I know I lucked out. Not that it's really about luck, I knew when I saw him get on my plane in June 2003 that this was the guy for me. Anyone that has such a great sense of humor and loves to live life the way he does, I couldn't go wrong. =)
Here's my end of the month pic. (these are the most comfy jeans...from White/Black, size 6)

Speaking of Mac...here he is today watching his Sunday morning political shows, drinking his coffee and working on Soduku.
I call this Big MacFoot, I think we just found the foot used to make the big foot footprints!

Several days ago Ashley and I had drinks with Jeri and her new/old boyfriend Karl. And I wanted to share a couple of those pics.

Me with my Jeri:
Here's a pic of Jeri and I (with Carla) from two summers ago. Dear lord!!

Jeri and Karl (the man is wearing cuff links...ohh lala! We likey)

Ashley, when your mom said always finish everything on your plate...she didn't mean drink the whole bottle of wine by yourself in place of a meal. hahaha

That's about it...more homework today, and the superbowl tonight. Not all that exciting since we don't like the Pats and Eli doesn't do it for me. =(
Have a great week!
